The District of North Vancouver's annual Volunteer Appreciation Event took place Sept. 13. Dozens of volunteers and district staff were in attendance and were treated to a buffet dinner at the I hope family centre and a country-style barn dance at the adjacent Maplewood Farm. Prizes were awarded for best cowboy and cowgirl getups, as well as for best boots. Mayor Richard Walton also gave an address.
