About 150 BC Hydro customers, including much of Lynn Valley Centre, lost power Wednesday morning.
The outage was a complication of the demolition work happening at the old Zellers building.
"The contractor left the electrical vault open so it was open to the elements," said BC Hydro spokesman Kevin Aquino. "That was the cause of the outage."
Crews restored power shortly after 2:30 p.m.
