Culture Days - Explore the Shore: A seaside walking tour and a hands on art opportunity for public participation Sunday, Sept. 30, 2-5 p.m. at the Silk Purse Arts Centre, 1570 Argyle Ave., West Vancouver. The West Vancouver Shoreline Preservation Society will hold interactive ocean shoreline explorations. There will also be exhibits about how the community is working to improve the health of the shoreline and its habitat. Artist Diane Moran will be on hand for collaging.

Dog Wash Fundraiser: The West Vancouver B.C. SPCA will hold a dog wash fundraiser Sept. 30, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Ambleside Park, 1020 Marine Dr., West Vancouver. Fee: minimum $20 per wash. All proceeds go to help animals.

Recycled Creations: Reduce, reuse and recycle to create imaginative crafts Sunday, Sept. 30, noon to 4 p.m. at North Vancouver Museum, 209 West Fourth St. Info: www.northvanmuseum.ca.

Project Waterfront - North Van Design Jam: The community is invited to submit their designs for what they think should be done to Lot 5 of the central waterfront area. To assist participants a series of events will cover the history of the site and design considerations. Change for Change: As Canada bids farewell to the penny, you can donate your pennies and change to The North Shore Disability Resource Centre by dropping them off at 3158 Mountain Hwy., North Vancouver. Call 604-985-5371 for pick-up.

Pitch Your Pennies for Good: The North Shore Community Resources Society is collecting pennies, rolled or not. They can be dropped of at the community resources office in Capilano Mall, 201-935 Marine Dr., North Vancouver. Info: 604-985-7138.

Stamp Collection Fundraiser: The Order of the Eastern Star is collecting used postage stamps. Stamps can be dropped off at the reception desk at the North Shore News, 126 East 15th St., North Vancouver. The fraternal organization uses money from the sale of stamps to purchase medical supplies to make and provide dressings for cancer patients throughout the province.
