New Member Information Night: The West Vancouver Youth Band will hold an information meeting Wednesday, Sept. 5, 7: 30 p.m. at the West Vancouver Community Centre, 2121 Marine Dr. This session is for musicians ages 9 to 19 interested in joining any of the four levels of the band. No experience is necessary for those joining beginner band. Space is also available in the strings ensemble for violin, viola, cello and bass players. Candlelight Tribute Commemorating Women and War: The public is invited to light a candle, which will burn all night in silent tribute to Canadian service men and women both past and present Saturday, Sept. 8, 5: 45 p.m. at the North Vancouver Cemetery on Lillooet Road. Coho Festival: An annual celebration of the return of the Coho Salmon to the North Shore Sunday, Sept. 9, 11 a.m.6 p.m. at Ambleside Park, West Vancouver. Festival activities include environmental displays, visual arts exhibitions, entertainment by local and visiting performers and the famous salmon barbecue. Call for Members: Carousel Chorus, a non-auditioned community choir is welcoming men and women of all vocal types as new members. No experience necessary.
