If you see low-flying helicopters buzzing homes in West Vancouver this weekend, it’s not RCMP Air1 looking for pot plantations in the Properties.
Film crews will be shooting scenes for an upcoming TV series, Almost Human, a sci-fi show about humans and androids pairing up to fight crime.
Under Transport Canada rules, the chopper must stay at least 500 feet above the highest landmark or building on its registered flight plan.
The scene calls for an aerial view of a vehicle travelling along Marine Drive and Highway 1. Because of the unpredictable nature of film shoots, it is not known how many takes the scene will require, though the flight plan is only valid during daylight hours, Saturday and Sunday.
