All classes were cancelled at the university, as the faculty association announced late Tuesday its 640 members would walk off the job and set up picket lines starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The news came late Tuesday night, after the two sides met for mediated talks Tuesday afternoon.

The university sent out email notices to students around 10 p.m. telling them all classes are cancelled until further notice.

Faculty members voted more than 80 per cent in favour of a strike March 9 and 10.

We are following the story. More to come.
