On the North Shore, Rockford Grill is introducing a brand new brunch menu just in time to fête mom. The roster of dishes includes roasted salmon hash, made with wild B.C. salmon; French toast stuffed with mascarpone cheese, strawberries and candied pecans; and eggs benedict poutine, which is just what it sounds like: fresh-cut fries topped with cheese curds and gravy, a poached egg and scratch-made hollandaise.

If you're keen to venture further afield, Yew Restaurant and Bar in Four Seasons Vancouver is offering a Mother's Day Brunch featuring a "Celebration of Seafood Raw Bar." On the menu: B.C. spot prawns, served with chimichurri and romesco sauces; a tasty selection of freshly shucked oysters with honey pearls, horseradish, lemon and mignonette; king crab legs with lime aioli and wild sockeye salmon gravlax. The kids will love Yew's Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlour featuring customized sundaes and floats. Call 604-692-4939 for information or to make reservations.

Another memorable Mother's Day Brunch will be offered in the Spanish Ballroom at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia. The legendary hotel will be hosting a themed brunch inspired by the chic 1920s era for the whole family with door prizes, children's activities and a delicious brunch within the glamorous Spanish Ballroom. The hotel's Head Chef Ken Nakano will prepare a West Coast-inspired brunch buffet featuring wild rice salad with shrimp, Asian pear and grilled scallions, and pan-seared spring salmon with red onion and pancetta relish. A sushi bar with snow crab legs, fresh oysters and shrimp terrine will add to the feast, fit for the most important member of the family. More classic brunch items such as brioche french toast, an eggs benedict station and a carving station of smoked and roasted meats. Brunch begins at 10: 30 a.m. Tickets are $75; $65 for seniors; $35 for children ages 6 to 12; children 5 and under are free.
