Biker rushed to hospital after Taylor Way crash

A 59-year-old Langley man was rushed to hospital in serious condition Sunday night after he was thrown from his bike in a crash on West Vancouvers Taylor Way. The victim was riding with a companion just after 9:30 p.m.

A 59-year-old Langley man was rushed to hospital in serious condition Sunday night after he was thrown from his bike in a crash on West Vancouvers Taylor Way.

The victim was riding with a companion just after 9:30 p.m. when he reportedly collided with a car making a turn at Keith Road. The rider was thrown from the bike and apparently struck the road, suffering serious injuries in the collision.

Police arrived to find him about five metres from his bike, slipping in and out of consciousness. Paramedics treated the man at the scene before taking him to Vancouver General Hospital for emergency surgery. No update on his condition has been released.

Police closed the road for several hours while traffic analysts examined the scene. Investigators have not yet attributed fault in the incident.
