If you’re planning on driving through the Keith Road and Brooksbank/Mountain Highway area this weekend, just don’t.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure has closed Keith from Heywood Street to Lynnmouth Avenue until Monday morning as part of the Mountain Highway interchange project. Brooksbank Avenue will also be closed north of Fifth Street.

“Works will include milling and removal of existing asphalt, infill with new material to raise the elevation, compaction, grading and new asphalt. Access will be maintained for bus service and emergency vehicles as well as houses at the northwest corner of Keith and Lynnmouth throughout the closure,” an update from the ministry stated.

The streets are expected to re-open by 5 a.m. on June 25.

The project is part of the multi-year, $200-million project to revamp all of the interchanges at the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing bridgehead.
