A local grant program is enabling strapped-forcash artists and event organizers a chance to get the financial support they need.
The 2014 Project Grants from The Arts Office is a unique way to empower arts, culture and community organizations in both the City and District of North Vancouver.
The grants are meant to support projects, events, festivals and celebrations that reflect the creativity and diversity of the community.
There are two rounds for the Project Grants, each with their own application deadline. Round one is for any project or event that takes place between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2014 and has an application deadline of Monday, Oct. 15, 2013. Round two is for projects that take place between July 1 and Dec. 31, 2014 and the application deadline is Wednesday, March 5, 2014.
All grant applications are reviewed and evaluated by an independent jury whose recommendations are then presented to the City and District councils for approval.
