A suspicious fire gutted an abandoned house near Lynnmour elementary Friday.
District of North Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services assistant chief Jim Bonneville said that a call came in around 6 p.m. Friday from the 700-block on Forsman, reporting flames and smoke shooting out of the rear of the building and the engulfing the deck.
Fire crews responded and broke down a wooden barrier blocking the front of the house. Crews accessed the attic from south side of the house and determined the residence was unoccupied before knocking the blaze down from the outside.
RCMP are asking anyone who was in the area on Friday evening to report possible suspicious activity or unusual traffic around Forsman Avenue.
