Regular diners at Trattoria Park Royal will have to chef’s kiss the restaurant goodbye.

After 10 years at Park Royal South, the upscale Italian eatery is closing for good.

“Unfortunately, due to the escalating rent prices, sustaining operations there has become financially challenging,” said Tara Armstrong, speaking on behalf of Glowbal Group, which owns Trattoria.

“They have decided not to renew their lease,” she said.

Trattoria Park Royal’s last service will be April 16, which coincides with the restaurant’s $16 Tratt Tuesday pasta night.

After the closure, Trattoria will have one location remaining in Burnaby. Its former location in Kitsilano closed last year.

The pasta restaurant isn’t the only one shutting down in the area. The nearby White Spot is shuttering on March 17.
