Berenice Diaz Ceballos, consul general of Mexico in Vancouver, watches artist Andres Gurumeta work on a painting. The Ferry Building Gallery, in collaboration with the Consulate General of Mexico, presents a mixed-media exhibition featuring the works of 14 Mexican-Canadian artists. The show, Mexico: Traditions and Contradictions, runs Aug. 16 to 28 at the gallery, 1414 Argyle Ave., West Vancouver. An opening reception will take place Tuesday, Aug. 16, 6-8 p.m.; meet the artists Saturday, Aug 20. 2-3 p.m.
