Pacific Cinémathèque presents the Vancouver premiere of Jacques Rivette's epic Out 1: Noli me tangere (1972) in four parts starting tonight at 6 p.m. The 13-hour film, originally made for French TV, features a cast of legendary New Wave actors - including Jean-Pierre Léaud, Juliet Berto, Bernadette Lafont, Bulle Ogier, Françoise Fabian and Michel Lonsdale - interweaving the tale of two rival theatre companies preparing productions of plays by Aeschylus with the stories of two eccentric outsiders all the while riffing on Balzac's Histoire des treize/History of the Thirteen (1835).
