- Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue New Orleans band kick things off tonight at the Centre for Performing Arts with the venerable Preservation Hall Jazz Band also on the bill.

West Vancouver jazz vocalist performs tonight at the CBC Production Centre at 5: 30 p.m. as part of the Hot Air 65th anniversary celebrations. Admission is free. Seating is first come, first seated. Get your name on the guest list for assured seating by emailing [email protected]. Taylor also plays St. Andrew's-Wesley Church on July 1 at 4 p.m. with the Bob Murphy Trio.

Dutch composer/violist Ig Henneman leads her group through a set at Ironworks on Thursday, June 28 and also conducts a free workshop at the Tom Lee Music Stage on June 28 at 1 p.m.
- Angelika Niescier
Polish/German saxophonist Angelika Niescier brings her Sublim project to Ironworks stage on Friday, June 29.
- Robert Randolph and the Family Band Funk/soul band hits the Vogue Theatre on June 30 with Rich Hope and His Evil Doers opening.
- Black Lotos with Xu Fengxia and Lucas Niggli Asian/West avant garde fusion duo perform at David Lam Park (Roundhouse Performance Centre) on June 30 at 1: 30 p.m.
- Gordon Grdina Trio with Samuel Blaser
Swiss-born trombonist Blaser joins Grdina's trio at Ironworks for 11: 30 p.m. show on Saturday, June 30.

Scandinavia is always well represented at the Vancouver jazz fest and this year IPA, featuring some of Norway and Sweden's finest improvisers, perform at Ironworks on June 23 as part of the Innovation Series.
