PJ Harvey wrote the score for Ivo van Hove’s West End stage production of All About Eve, which starred Gillian Anderson and Lily James in the lead roles. The album-length soundtrack includes incidental music and two songs featuring vocals. James sings lead on “The Moth” and Anderson performs “The Sandman.”

The production was adapted by van Hove from the 1950 Twentieth Century Fox film by Joseph L Mankiewicz and the play “The Wisdom of Eve” by Mary Orr. The new stage version, which ran earlier this year, from Feb. 2 to May 11, at the Noel Coward Theatre in London, featured set and lighting design from Jan Versweyveld, costume design by An D’Huys and the music from PJ Harvey, alongside Tom Gibbons’ sound design.

The U.K.’s National Theatre Live broadcast a performance from London’s West End which is currently being screened across Canada by Cineplex Odeon Cinemas. North Vancouver’s Park & Tilford will screen the theatre production on Thursday, June 6 at 3 p.m.

Invada Records, in conjunction with Lakeshore Records, released All About Eve – Original Soundtrack, composed by PJ Harvey on April 12. The label says Harvey’s score for All About Eve, “is performed by herself, James Johnston and Kenrick Rowe, and uses Franz Liszt’s ‘Liebesträume’ (a musical element of Mankiewicz’s original film) as a musical touchstone.” For more information visit pjharvey.net/all-about-eve-original-score-album-out-friday-april-12.
