For Balthazar Korab the twin careers of architect and photographer have been a perfect fit. In both areas his work has been driven by visual aesthetics and practical applications.
As a young man he left his native Hungary in 1949 to escape the communist regime and finished his architectural studies in Paris. In 1955 he was hired by Eero Saarinen as a designer and soon became the U.S. firm's official photographer.
His architect's sensibilities combined with a brilliant eye for composition produced stunning images of projects for Saarinen's firm and later a wide range of other architects. Throughout his long career his passion for design has driven him to create remarkable studies of projects in various stages of completion. This collection of photographs show not only his distinctive approach but also showcases the work of many of the top architects of the 20th century.
