Odds talk about the importance of disguises and other tips in Write It in Lightning, an excerpt from the house concert/documentary television series The Neighbors Dog.
They released their album Cheerleader on Pheromone Recordings 10 years ago this month. The song, “Write It in Lightning,” which first appeared on Craig Northey’s solo effort, Giddy Up, is both a tribute to The Who and a brilliant pop song in its own right. An encyclopedic knowledge of anything related to a pop universe is a specialty of the Odds who once toured with Warren Zevon - opening for him and then performing as his band. In The Neighbors Dog they reminisce about some of what they got up to in the early days.
On June 8, Odds are performing at the Imperial as part of the District of North Vancouver Firefighters' third annual Barn Burner with Steven Page, Barney Bentall and Rich Hope. This summer they are scheduled to perform several dates with Page in July on the East Coast. They return to play the Biltmore in Vancouver on Sept. 13 as part of the Westward Music Festival.
