The Vancouver Art Gallery opens its monumental study Grand Hotel: Redesigning Modern Life this weekend. The exhibition focuses attention on four main themes travel, design, the social and culture to explore the unique status of the hotel in the context of contemporary life.
Opening weekend will also feature screenings of Andy Warhols underground split-screen epic, Chelsea Girls, shot in New York Citys Chelsea Hotel in the summer of 1966. The film will be shown on two projectors running simultaneosuly in the Culture section of the Grand Hotel exhibit.
