In-person artists augment reality
Artists Sunny Nestler and Josh Wallace will be on location at the Gibsons Public Art Gallery on Saturday, April 22 to discuss their respective mixed-media exhibitions: Cone Worms and Tangled Knots and Listening into Non-Separateness.

Harbouring Slavic soul music
On Sunday, April 24, the Pender Harbour Music Society presents cellist Paul Marleyn and pianist Silvia Fraser in concert.
Marleyn has played with many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras and is Professor of Cello and Head of Strings at the University of Ottawa.
The programme, which takes place at the Pender Harbour School of Music, is entitled “The Slavic Soul.” It will include works by Rachmaninov, Janacek, Popper, Rubenstein and Schedrin.

Writers and editors on a Mission
Megan Cole, a self-described tattooed food enthusiast with an obsessive reading habit, will be speaking during the April 28 meeting of the Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors Society at Mission Point House in Davis Bay.
Cole is a journalist who has worked for community newspapers, CBC Radio, and Canadian Press. She also directs programming and communications for the BC and Yukon Book Prizes from her headquarters in Powell River. Her remarks begin at 7 p.m.

Did you know that the Coastal Art Gallery has relocated from Trail Bay to the Sunnycrest Mall in Upper Gibsons?
The cooperative gallery space hosts scores of paintings, photography and ceramics by Sunshine Coast artists.
Hospitable docent offer warm conversation and winsome insights. The gallery is open Mondays to Saturday, with reduced hours on Sunday. A Grand Opening celebration is planned for May 14.
