Representatives of the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation are calling on local youths to enter their Christmas Card Design Contest.
North Shore high school and intermediate elementary school students (grades 4-7) are invited to submit a bright and colourful piece of festive artwork that embodies the North Shore, according to the foundation's website.
Ten pieces will be shortlisted for consideration by a panel of judges, including North Shore artists Ross Penhall, Bobbie Burgers and Cori Creed, who will decide on two winners.
Each winner will receive a $100 gift card from Park Royal, and their artwork will be featured on the two designs included in the foundation's 2015 Christmas Card Packs, which go on sale Oct. 30. The deadline for artwork submissions is Oct. 13.
Proceeds from the sale of the cards will help purchase much-needed new medical equipment at the North Vancouver hospital. For full contest details, visit lghfoundation.com/news/lions-gate-hospital-christmas-foundation-card-design-contest.
