Salute to Senior Service Award Program: Presented by Home Instead Senior Care, the public education program seeks to honour volunteer contributions that adults 65+ make in the community. Nominees must volunteer at least 15 hours a month. Provincial winners will receive a plaque and their stories will be posted on the program website. The national winner will receive $5,000 to be donated to their non-profit charity of choice. Nominations, due March 15, can be submitted at www.salutetoseniorservice.com.

St. Patrick's Day Tea: Silver Harbour will celebrate St. Patrick's Day with their first ever tea Tuesday, March 20, 2 p.m. at Silver Harbour Seniors' Activity Centre, 144 East 22nd St., North Vancouver. Tickets: $8 (must be purchased in advance), which includes a plate of treats, coffee or tea and entertainment by the North Shore Celtic Ensemble. Info: 604-980-2474.
