Seniors Peer Support: Caring volunteers ages 55+ are needed to assist other seniors to help maintain their independence and to access resources in the community. Once a sufficient number of volunteers have registered, they will receive training by Seniors Peer Counselling B.C. The class is hoped to start in late September or early October. Attention Men: Seniors Acting Up, a cabaret group that performs at senior facilities twice a month, is looking for new members. They rehearse Thursdays from 10 a.m. to noon at Silver Harbour Centre, 144 East 22nd St., North Vancouver. Fee: $18 per season. Info: Joan, 604325-1857.

Silver Harbour Shorts Joins Movies at the Meek: Films created by members of the digital storytelling group at Silver Harbour Seniors' Activity Centre will be featured during the Movies at the Meek series at Kay Meek Centre, 1700 Mathers Ave., West Vancouver.
