Seniors Peer Support: Caring volunteers ages 55+ are needed to assist other seniors to help maintain their independence and to access resources in the community. Once a sufficient number of volunteers have registered, they will receive training by Seniors Peer Counselling B.C. The class is hoped to start in late September or early October. Upon completion, participants will be assigned to visit senior clients. Registration: Lori, 604-987-8138, ext. 211 or 604-982-8333.

Memory Games for body balance and brain will take place Mondays, 1-3 p.m. until Aug. 20 at John Braithwaite Community Centre, 145 West First St., North Vancouver. Fee: $36 for the session or $7 drop-in. Info: Gail Roxburgh, 604-982-8330.

Seniors Wellness Park: Parkgate Community Centre health and lifestyle consultants will be at Parkgate Park, North Vancouver providing orientations on how to effectively use the Seniors Wellness Park equipment Mondays, 10: 30 a.m.12: 30 p.m. and Wednesdays, 8: 45-10: 15 a.m. throughout July and August. Alzheimer's Care Training: West Vancouver families are invited to a free training workshop July 24, 1-3 p.m. at Home Instead Senior Care, 201-2232 Marine Dr., West Vancouver. The session is designed to incorporate a patient-centred approach to help families deal with some of the difficult behavioural changes associated with Alzheimer's and other dementias. If caregivers are unable to attend the session, they can access free online training mod-ules at www.helpforalzheimersfamilies.com.

Harmony Arts Festival: A trip down memory lane for the young at heart. Seniors can dance to the sounds of Dal Richards' Orchestra Sunday, Aug. 5, 2-4 p.m. and the Yaletown String Quartet will perform Sunday, Aug. 12, 2-4 p.m. at John Lawson Park, 750 17th St., West Vancouver. Jillian Lebeck and Adam Thomas will perform jazz Saturday, Aug. 11, 2-4 p.m. at the West Vancouver Community Centre, 2121 Marine Dr. Info: www.harmonyarts.ca.
