THE District of West Vancouver announced the reopening of the parking lot at the West Vancouver Seniors' Activity Centre Thursday.

According to a press release, the parking lot will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until new lighting is installed later in December, after which it will remain open 24 hours a day.

The parking lot will be closed to allow for the lighting installation.

The parking lot has been closed for construction for two months, during which time it received a new surface, an improved drop-off area, better drainage and reconfigured parking stalls that created eight additional parking spaces. New lighting will enhance parking lot safety and security for seniors' activity centre patrons.

The new parking lot is part of the district's larger 21st Street rehabilitation project that endeavours to enhance the safety, accessibility and inclusiveness of 21st Street from Marine Drive to Queens Avenue.
