IT'S finally starting to look like spring around here, so what better time to experiment with colour in your makeup routine.
If you're feeling a little brave, but still want to maintain some subtlety, Clinique's new Almost Lipstick might be the perfect compromise. Available in seven shades with cute names like Lovely Honey and Tender Honey, Almost Lipstick is just what it sounds like, a cross between a lipstick and a lip balm. Colours go on sheer and range from nudes to pinks, reds and violets.
I played around with a few different options - just one layer of Shy Honey's delicate pink makes for a soft, girly look while a few layers of Chic Honey leaves a bold raisin hue that's sure to get attention.
If you opt to go understated on the lips, consider spicing things up with Clinique's Quickliner for Eyes Intense. This line of convenient, non-sharpening eye pencils is available in a number of rich shades including Intense Black, Intense Plum, Intense Ivy and Intense Charcoal. The smudger tips on the backs of the pencils make for a lot of versatility.
On a recent night out, I smudged Intense Plum over my lids to create a shadow, before reapplying the pencil along my upper and lower lash lines. Paired with black mascara, the result was edgy and hot.
