Members of the Deep Cove Lions Club are inviting community members to bring old bills and documents to a safe shredding event Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Parkgate Community Centre parking lot.
The by-donation event will support My Parkgate Break, a social and recreational program for seniors living at home with early to moderate dementia, according to a written statement. The program, in its second year, provides lowcost, creative leisure activities and gives family caregivers respite time.
The goal is to provide fellowship, fitness and leisure activities in a safe and caring environment with trained program leaders and volunteers. Info: [email protected]. In 2014, the Deep Cove Lions raised $2,500 for the program.
