Shadow adds shimmer

AFTER months of wearing little more than black mascara and a touch of bronzer, it's time for a little more drama in the makeup department. The best way to add some glam to your look is to play up the eyes.

Estée Lauder recently launched the Pure Color Cyber Eyes collection, featuring eyeshadows, liners and mascaras in a range of vibrant and futuristic shades including electric blue and teal, silver and copper and green, pink and purple.

The Pure Color Gelée Powder EyeShadows ($28) can be applied wet for a hypermetallic shimmer or dry for a subtle shine. Recently, I tried out Cyber Teal paired with the Extreme Teal Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara ($28.50) for a masquerade party that I attended. The effect was pretty cool. Since the shadow was applied wet, it gave my eyes a rich, metallic sheen that definitely created the drama I was hoping for.

For a more subtle pop of colour, I'd recommend applying a more neutral eyeshadow with one of the Pure Color Intense Kajal EyeLiners ($23) and the mascara.

Estée Lauder's Pure Color Cyber Eyes Collection will be available at cosmetic counters in November.
