NORTH Shore residents are fortunate when it comes to options for year-round outdoor recreation.

From hiking and kayaking in the summer to a variety of winter sports atop our three local peaks, we've got all the seasons covered.

A new workout option, presented by those behind Ultrafit Bootcamp, combines local residents' interest in staying active with yet another popular passion: their pets!

Ultrafit added Dog Fit Bootcamp classes to their arsenal this month, encouraging participants to bring their canines to class. All of the exercises have been designed with both human and dog in mind.

Owner Annilou Verge-Marion is excited to bring the program to Vancouver, giving clients an opportunity to spend some quality time with their dog, while also getting a "killer workout," according to a written statement.

Dog fit classes take place outside in North Vancouver and are an hour in duration.

Ultrafit offers a variety of bootcamp programs on the North Shore, as well as in Burnaby, Kitsilano and East Vancouver.
