Naarah Schmidt (left), a 32-year-old nurse at Vancouver General Hospital, recently finished cancer treatments consisting of four surgeries and eight rounds of chemotherapy following a June 2014 diagnosis with a rare appendix cancer. She’s planning to tackle the two-day, 200-kilometre B.C. Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Silver Wheaton benefitting the B.C. Cancer Foundation Aug. 29-30 as part of a team comprised of family, and friend (and fellow nurse), Kailea Feddersen (right). In support of their efforts, Team Strong Spirit is hosting a Pub Night Fundraiser at the Narrows Public House, Saturday, June 20 at 6 p.m. Tickets: $30/$15, visit team-strong-spirit.eventbrite.com.
