Naarah Schmidt (left), a 32-year-old nurse at Vancouver General Hospital, recently finished cancer treatments consisting of four surgeries and eight rounds of chemotherapy following a June 2014 diagnosis with a rare appendix cancer. She’s planning to tackle the two-day, 200-kilometre B.C. Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Silver Wheaton benefitting the B.C. Cancer Foundation Aug. 29-30 as part of a team comprised of family, and friend (and fellow nurse), Kailea Feddersen (right).
