North Vancouver residents Andrew Westerlund (heart recipient) and Margaret Benson (double lung) celebrate their respective showings at the Canadian Transplant Association’s 2016 Canadian Transplant Games held in Toronto, Ont., Aug. 8-13. Westerlund, who served as Team B.C.’s flag bearer for the opening ceremonies and made his games debut, won gold medals in the one-kilometre run, five-pin bowling, long jump and 100-m dash events. Benson won gold in five-km race walk, 800-m run and 100-m run, and silver in five-km run and shot put.
