Seventeen-year-old Handsworth secondary student Olivia Nobes, pictured here with her golden retriever Dexter and her Chesapeake Bay retriever Missy, took second place at the International Junior Handling Competition at the world’s largest dog show, Crufts, held in Birmingham, England last month. The competition requires entrants to demonstrate their handling ability and rapport with unfamiliar dogs that they have only just met. Nobes qualified to compete at Crufts after winning the title of Canadian National Junior Handling Conformation Champion in Sainte-Foy, Quebec last August.
