Local band The Tourist Company, comprised of Taylor Swindells, Jillian Levey, Josué Quezada and Brenon Parry, released a new three-song EP, entitled Atlantic, Sept. 9. All proceeds will support Union Gospel Mission’s Thanksgiving and Christmas meal program that feeds thousands of people in need living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. The band, currently part of this year’s Peak Performance Project, met when they were counsellors at one of the summer camps that the mission sends kids to annually. The EP can be purchased for $3.50, the approximate cost of one meal through the mission’s programs, at thetouristcompany.bandcamp.com. The band’s goal is to provide 750 meals, the daily number of people served by the organization. thetouristcompany.ca PHOTO SUPPLIED
