Long time West Vancouver resident Judith Marcuse has been elected a Senior Fellow of Ashoka International.

Ashoka International is a global association for the world's leading social entrepreneurs. The organization began in 1980 and currently has more than 2,700 Fellows in more than 70 countries. The role of Fellows in Ashoka is to introduce system-changing solutions for the world's most urgent social problems.

Marcuse has more than 40 years of professional work as a dancer, choreographer, director and producer. She is also the founder and co-director of the International Centre of Art for Social Change, an organization with a mandate to help create social change through art.

Recently the organization has partnered with Simon Fraser University to deliver classes in the Faculty of Education and in the Faculty of Continuing Studies.

"This appointment will assist me in sharing knowledge best practices with other 'change-agents' around the world," said Marcuse. "It will help to open doors and support my continuing work with the International Centre of Art for Social Change."
