Paddle for a cure: Head out on the water today and go dancing tonight to help three local teams raise money for the Ride to Conquer Cancer benefitting B.C. Cancer Foundation's ride to Seattle. On Sunday June 8, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Cates Park you can rent a paddleboard or kayak from the Cates Park Paddling Centre and all proceeds will go to support Team Gilby, Deep Cove Divas and To the Max. Call 604-985-2925 to make a reservation and say, "I'm supporting the Deep Cove Teams" to receive 20 per cent off the rental fee. Stop by BodyCo Fitness at 385-489 North Dollarton Hwy. afterwards for a dance party and silent auction, 7-10 p.m. Entrance and refreshments by donation.

Fitness Classes for weight loss for people who want to start a program alongside others who are in a similar situation Mondays and Fridays, 10 a.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1110 Gladwin Dr., North Vancouver. Easter Seals 24-Hour Relay: Registration is open for this full day and night relay that starts Saturday, June 14, 10 a.m. at Swangard Stadium in Central Park, Burnaby. Reebok Spartan Race: An obstacle race series Saturday, June 14 with an elite heat starting at 8 a.m. followed by regular heats of up to 250 competitors every 30 minutes at Mount Seymour, North Vancouver.
