Call for North Vancouver Community Gardeners: UNIBUG - the User Network for Insect Biology in Urban Garden, which fights insects the natural way with other insects - is looking for volunteers to dedicate a small area of their plots in community gardens to run tests. UNIBUG staff will visit the gardens and provide on-site training and monitoring equipment free of charge. To get involved, contact Veronica Wahl at 604-527-5522 or iue@ douglas college.ca.

Building Urban Garden Blitz: A casual gathering of people that come together to build edible gardens and share and learn new skills Wednesday, July 6, 5: 30-7: 30 p.m. in the Lonsdale area. No experience is required to help build two raised garden beds and create a boulevard bee garden. Exact location will be given upon registration by emailing gardenblitz@gmail. com.

GardenSmart - Patio Veggies: Gardening expert Heather Nielson will present an introduction to the flexibility and simplicity of container gardening Wednesday, July 6, 7-8: 30 p.m. at John Braithwaite Community Centre, 145 West First St., North Vancouver.
