Free, green disposal for old paint

RONA has launched a paint recovery program across British Columbia to supply home improvement enthusiasts with one more way to be environmentally conscientious

Every Rona or Totem Building Supplies in British Columbia will collect from residents any brand of old or unused paint at no cost. Rona began running its in-store paint recovery program in Quebec 14 years ago, and since then the company has saved more than 15 million kilograms of leftover paint and paint cans. Nearly 100 per cent of the paint recovered by Rona is recycled and reused.

Rona accepts a variety of different home paint - latex, alkyd and stains - but the program does not include plastic paint, car paint and industrial paint among others. A detailed list of acceptable products can be found at www.ronaeco.ca.
