Pub fundraiser: A fundraiser and silent auction will be held Saturday, Aug. 4 in support of Dave Hawkins, manager of Sailor Hagar's Liquor Store. Hawkins suffered burns to 40 per cent of his body when he entered his burning home to try and save his dogs. The event runs from 5 to 9 p.m. at Sailor Hagar's Brew Pub, 86 Semisch Ave. in North Vancouver. A band will be playing from 9 p.m. until closing and admission is $5 or more by donation.
