Japanese Cooking Classes will take place Thursdays, May 10, 17 and 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. followed by an Osaka Supermarket tour Wednesday, June 6 from 10 to 11 a.m. Classes will include hands-on teaching, recipes and all the ingredients. Cooking for a Cause: King Pacific Lodge and the Gitga'at First Nation will host a celebration marking the launch of their co-founded charitable organization, Guarding the Gifts, Friday, May 11, 7-10 p.m. at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery, Richmond. The evening is intended to draw attention to the risks the Northern Gateway Pipeline Project poses to the First Nation Gitga'at people and the Great Bear Rainforest.
