Hey Day: Park Royal Shopping Centre will host this event this Saturday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the south mall's centre court. Hey Day was created in 2011 by a group of active youths brought together by a common goal: to inspire peers in their community by providing local and global volunteer opportunities. Various organizations will be on hand to answer questions and provide information, including: Rotary Club International, E Recycling Club, Amnesty International, CUSO International. Enjoy a variety of speakers and performances throughout the afternoon in the food court. Hey Day is planned and executed by local North Shore students who work in partnership with the office of MP John Weston and Park Royal. This annual event is part of Heritage Week, and this year celebrates West Vancouver's 100th anniversary. Featured will be displays from various community groups like West Vancouver SPCA, Block Watch and the North Shore Black Society as well as photo collages. Music at 3 p.m. Enjoy free samples of Murchies' Queen Victoria blend. The John Deere Crawler, an old tractor that used to take people up the mountain to ski, will be at the mall to Feb. 28.

Grad Fashions: Marilyn's of West Vancouver, located in Caulfeild Village, will host the Ultimate Grad Fashion Show this Sunday, Feb. 26, 2-5 p.m. Featured designers include: Alfred Angelo, Group JS and Laundry by Shelly Segal. Art Deco Chic opens March 8 at the Museum of Vancouver and will feature 66 glamorous garments from the 1920s and '30s. Exquisite designer dresses from Chanel, Lanvin, Vionnet, Patou and Schiaparelli are included in the exhibit, which is co-curated by Vancouver fashion historian Ivan Sayers and features several items from Sayers' own collection. Handbags, hats, shoes and jewelry round out the show and further illustrate the use of geometric shapes to create the sleek, sophisticated designs that were typical of the art deco period. Exhibit closes Sept. 23. Hours are 10 a.m.5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday, and 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, closed Monday. Info: 604736-4431. Spring Skate: Park Royal is dusting off the synthetic ice rink it first installed for the 2010 Olympics and setting it up the first week of Spring Break, March 9-18, in the upper level parking area just behind Osaka Supermarket and Staples.
