Student Show: On Tuesday March 20, the beauty of the universe is captured for a single night at the John Casablancas Institute's Theorem Nouveau fashion show. The fashion school graduates will be showing off their skills as stylists, designers, and conceptual engineers while a silent auction and sales of refreshments will raise funds for Vancouver's Covenant House. Witness the symphony of colours and light at Performance Works on Granville Island. Doors at 6: 30 p.m., show at 7: 30 p.m. Tickets: $20 from JCI (604-688-0328) or $25 at the door. Fraser Valley Bead Show: Gather your friends and head down to the largest bead show in Western Canada, at Executive Plaza Hotel, 405 North Road, Coquitlam. Find an exclusive mix of beads and jewelry, watch free demonstrations, or check out one of the many classes happening throughout the weekend. The bead show runs March 23-25. Admission is $7 at the door; children under 12 are free.

Trunk show: Tartooful will host a trunk show of Trollbeads next Thursday, Feb. 23, 28 p.m. at 2183 Edgemont Blvd., North Vancouver. Partial proceeds will go to ww.globalgiving.org to support micro-loans to women in rural Uganda who are seeking to start their own business. Info at www.tartooful.com.

Thrifty Chic: The Thrift Shop at Mount Seymour United Church (1200 Parkgate Ave., just off Mount Seymour Parkway) is open Thursdays, 2 to 8 p.m. Half-price sale for the month of February. New stock will arrive on March 1.
