Kelly Schmidt, her brother Darren Pedersen and his girlfriend Leanne Chan encourage the public to support their participation in next weekend’s Diamond Car Rally, an invitation-only event giving those involved an opportunity to raise funds for their favourite charity. To support Schmidt, Pedersen and Chan’s campaign, community members are invited to purchase a Faith, Hope, Love car decal (for a minimum donation of $100) via the siblings’ website, thecancerstore.ca, which they founded following their respective diagnoses with cancer — Schmidt, brain cancer, and Pedersen, colorectal. Both are currently in recovery. The site is intended as an online resource and guide for those faced with cancer.
