BRRRR.

There's no mistaking it - winter is on its way and that casual fall jacket isn't going to do the trick for much longer. Get cosy for a good cause this season during West 49's ninth annual Coats for Kids campaign.

The rules are simple - bring a clean, insulated jacket into the Park Royal location between now and Nov. 17 and receive $25 off any men's, ladies' or youth winter jackets in return. The coats will be donated to children in need via Covenant House.

"A big thing for us is just really connecting with the community," says Lisa Stuve, senior marketing specialist for West 49.

Picking out your new coat will be fun as bright colours such as purples, yellows and greens are still on trend, she adds. A top pick for guys is the Billabong Antii Autti jacket ($200), which combines army green with bright orange.

"It's just a great look. It's a really good design and it's hitting all the trends," says Stuve. Prints-wise, stripes and plaid are still staples for men while vibrant all over graphics are big for women.

The Billabong Anne-Flore jacket ($250) for girls features a spacey vibe with its illuminated multicolour dots.

Most jackets come standard with cellphone pockets and MP3 holders for added convenience.

As always, Billabong, Element, Burton and Ripzone are the biggest sellers.
