If you need to build basic skills for the trades or in business and computer essentials, Continuing Education is interviewing qualified individuals right now.

The Employment Skills Access program is offering free training to assist unemployed and underemployed individuals to upgrade their skills and find employment. Applications are being accepted from qualified individuals to two programs starting soon, and spaces are filling quickly.

Starting Jan. 30, Introduction to Trades provides occupational certifications in forklift operation, confined space, Occupational First Aid, fall protection, and more. This six-week, full-time program, Introduction to the Trades, is designed to help workers take advantage of spring opportunities in trades industries throughout the Lower Mainland and along the Coastal Corridor.

Starting Feb. 6, the Retail and Hospitality Customer Service Program provides practical skills including cashier training, computers and customer service, as well as certifications in FoodSafe, WorldHost, Serving it Right, WHMIS and more.
