THE Vancouver International Boat Show, taking place Feb. 8-12, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year as B.C.'s largest showcase for the recreational boating industry.
This year's show will feature more than 250 exhibitors at its two locations, an indoor venue at B.C. Place and a brand new in-water venue at Granville Island Maritime Market and Marina (1676 Duranleau St.), according to a press release.
Speakers and show attractions include: Discovery Channel's Russell Newberry from the hit TV show Deadliest Catch; Zac Sunderland, who at age 16 set a world record as the youngest person to sail solo around the world; and, Duma, a waterskiing Jack Russell Terrier.
Show hours are as follows: Wednesday-Friday, 11 a.m.9 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
The Granville Island Maritime Market and Marina in-water venue closes at 5 p.m. daily
Free shuttle service will run continuously between B.C. Place and Granville Island. In addition, water ferries will travel between B.C. Place and Granville Island (pick-up at Plaza of Nations).
Tickets range from $13 to $25 and are free for children 16 and under, accompanied by an adult.
