Art in the Garden

The 18th annual Art in the Garden self-guided tour of North Shore gardens is scheduled for May 27-28.

Produced by the North Vancouver Community Arts Council, the event features local art and music in natural spaces. A press release from the arts council notes that this year’s tour will features 16 residential gardens located in various neighbourhoods in North Vancouver and West Vancouver. Local visual artists and artisans will use these spaces as the “gallery walls” on which to display their work, and local musicians will perform at each garden throughout the weekend.

This year’s event includes pottery, photography, sculpture, and acrylic and oil paintings, with many works inspired by natural surroundings. Every garden will have musical acts performing on both days of the tour weekend with folk, jazz, acoustic roots, traditional world fusion, and pop flavours.

Admission is $2 per garden or $20 for an all-garden discount pass.

Passes are now available for purchase online, by calling 604-988-6844, or to pick up in person at CityScape Community Art Space, located at 335 Lonsdale Ave., North Vancouver. Tickets will also be available at all of the gardens on the tour during the event weekend (cash only at the gardens). For more information about the event visit the North Vancouver Community Arts
