WV foundation names four new directors

The West Vancouver Community Foundation has added four new members to its board

According to a written statement, the new board of directors for 2011/2012 includes:

- Peter Ackhurst, manager of the Whistler Community Forest and chairman of the board of directors. He's been involved with Rotary for many years and is past-president of the Community Foundation of Whistler.

- Mark Ballard, a real estate agent for Remax Western Canada. He serves as a member of the North Vancouver and West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and is a mentor to business students at Capilano University.

- Geoff Jopson is former superintendent of schools in West Vancouver and is a director of the West Vancouver Memorial Library Foundation, a trustee of the West Vancouver Memorial Library Board and a member of the B.C. School Superintendent's Association.

- Nancy Farran, vice-president and investment advisor at RBC Dominion Securities. She currently sits on the board of St. Andrew's Hall and is past-president of the women's committee at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club.

Continuing directors include Gerry Humphries (chairman) Helen Vanee, Fanny Patterson, Ron Royston, Tom Allison, Bill Harvey, Kristin MacMillan, Valorie Pawson, Pat Shannon and Delaina Bell, executive director.

The West Vancouver Community Foundation is a nonprofit that assists individuals, families, corporations and organizations make donations in perpetuity to their community, which are used to establish endowment funds used for evolving community needs.
