St. Andrew's United Church hosts 15th annual teddy bear picnic

Take your kids to St. Andrew's Park on Saturday (June 25) for face painting, cookie decorating or to pick up a teddy in need of a home 🧸

If you go down to St. Andrew's United Church on Saturday (June 25), you're sure for a big surprise.

You'd also better go in disguise, for every bear that ever there was will gather there for certain, because that's the day the church hosts its 15th annual Teddy Bear Picnic.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, friends and neighbours will gather at St. Andrew’s Park for three hours of face painting, cookie decorating, button making as well as other arts and crafts.

There'll be clowns from the Click & Clown Company, songs from Music with Marnie and dancing from Trading Taps Dance Company, which encourages people to bring their tap shoes.

Organizers will also have a bunch of bears on hand that are looking for a good home. There'll even be a teddy bear doctor to examine your bear, as well as a teddy bear beauty salon, and free, hand-knitted scarves for your ted.

Dunbar, St. Andrew’s resident teddy, has been to all the picnics the church has hosted. Looking smart in his dapper tie, he’s ready for the fun at this year's picnic. “I can’t wait!” he said in a statement.
