Grade 6 Ridgeview Elementary student Ashlee Chmelauskas holds up some plastic items as part of an ocean plastics education program and camp held at Hollyburn Sailing Club and Ambleside Beach recently.
The multi-day program was part of an Ocean Ambassadors Canada initiative intended to inspire the next generation to help solve the plastic crisis with a hands-on approach examining the way plastic can harm the ocean.
