Santa Claus is coming to Bowen Island Saturday (for real this time)

Santa is usually a VIP at Light Up Bowen, this year he's planning to tour the island by car.

After a false start last weekend, Santa Claus is coming to Bowen Island Saturday, Dec. 12, rain or shine. 

Starting at noon near the library, Santa and his helpers will tour the island by car. While kids cannot approach Santa, they can give letters to his elf (Jewal Maxwell). 

The general route according to Maxwell is: 

  • Miller road, around the Loop, slow at the Red Church, then the Legion parking lot and turning around at Creek Road end (general eta 12:20 p.m.)
  • Kilarney Lake, Bowen Island Community School (general eta 12:40 p.m.)
  • Dorman Point to the four corners  – Hummingbird and Dorman Road time (general eta 12:50 p.m.)
  • Cates Hill
  • Fire Hall mid-island (general eta 1 p.m.)
  • Harding Road (general eta 1:10 p.m.)
  • Dog Ranch entrance - pulling over (general eta 1:20 p.m.)
  • Annette Court on Sunset (general eta 1:30 p.m.)
  • Tunstall Bay up Reef Road - bus route (general eta 1:50 p.m.)
  • First road to Bowen Bay (general eta 2 p.m.) 
  • Bowen Bay (general eta 2:15 p.m.)
  • Spyglass bus loop (general eta 2:25 p.m.)
  • Back down Captain's Way and that is the end.
